Obtaining a Successful Pregnancy

At the minimum, we require all open/barren mares sent to our farm for breeding to provide us with a uterine culture with sensitivity and equine cytology that are negative within 30 days. If these tests have not been performed, we will instruct the veterinarian on staff to obtain the necessary results. Maiden mares with an in-tact hymen are exempt from this requirement.

Additional testing may be suggested or required with problem mares to aid in obtaining a successful pregnancy. These tests may include but are not limited to a biopsy which identifies uterine condition or a histopath which identifies hormonal levels.
